- Open your image
- From the Layers Palette, click the New Layer icon (dog ear)
- From the Window Menu, select Colour Swatches
- As you hover over each color, make note of the colour
- Select the 50% grey swatch
Note: Starting with 50% grey ensures you will be using a colour that will be light enough to see a change
- From the Toolbox, select the Brush Tool
- Change the size of the brush using the bracket keys [ ]
- Paint on the areas of the hair you want to change
- From the Enhance Menu, select Adjust Colour then Adjust Hue/Saturation
- Tick the Colourize box
- Adjust the Hue, Saturation, and Lightness until you achieve the desired colour
- From the Layers Palette, change the Blending Mode to Soft Light
